The upper viewpoint of Skógafoss is quite busy, and many people follow the river upstream for a little while. It’s an enchanted trail, and the further you get away from Skógafoss, the more it feels like it’s only yours. So this hiking trail has 26 waterfalls, and you pass them one by one as you hike upstream along Skógá river. But it’s worth climbing the metal stairs for the upper viewpoint, and it’s also where the Waterfall Way starts. The bottom viewpoint is easier to get to, and it gives the best close, frontal view of Skógafoss.
